Terms of Entry for Herald on Sunday Win a Holiday to North East England Competition

Postal Entries – coupon required: Complete the original entry form and send in an envelope to North East England giveaway photocopied coupons accepted; each entry must be in a separate envelope.

TERMS OF ENTRY

Information on How to Enter and all details on the entry form (web or coupon) and at point of sale form part of these Terms. To the extent of any inconsistency, the Terms below prevail. By entering, you accept these Terms.

1) Entry is open to NZ residents only. Anyone employed by (and any immediate family member of someone employed by) APN and North East England Tourism any agencies associated with these companies or with the promotion are ineligible to enter. APN is APN New Zealand Limited (and its related companies). If the winner of the prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's parent(s) or guardian(s).

2) The prize consists of two return economy class airfares to Newcastle, England and 3 nights B&B at The Old School Quality B&B, 2 nights B&B at Jesmond Dene House inc dinner on one night, 2 nights B&B at Rockliffe Hall plus: 1 x 60 minute Spa Treatment and 1 Round of Golf OR 2 x 60 minute Spa Treatments OR 2 Rounds of Golf (dependent on winners preference); 8 days car hire , English Heritage Overseas Visitors pass for x 2 adults, valid for 14 days.

3) Travel and accommodation is subject to availability at time of booking. Offers valid from January 2010 for 12 months (excludes Easter, Christmas and New Year 2010). Beverages and any extras should be settled on departure from accommodation. This travel prize cannot be transferred to another service and cannot to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Airfares are subject to availability of specific fare type.

4) Winners will be notified by phone. If the prize is not claimed within 7 days from the draw date APN may re-draw a new winner(s). APN's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or service and no exchange communications will be entered into.

5) Neither APN nor North East England Tourism are liable for any loss, damage or injury (including without limitation indirect or consequential loss) suffered by any person in connection with the promotion or any prize, except for any liability under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6) APN reserves the right to vary these Terms or to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion.

7) APN reserves the right to verify the validity of any entry. APN may disqualify any person who enters a keyword more than once or copies a coupon or otherwise tampers with the process or fails to comply with these Terms.

8) Email entrants are identified by the email address used to submit the entry. Any prize won by a email entrant will be awarded to the holder of the email address (or that person's parent/guardian) from which that entry was submitted. APN takes no responsibility for disputes resulting from entries submitted using an email address belonging to any other person.

9) 'Entries become the property of APN and APN may disclose all personal information relating to the entries to North East England Tourism. In accordance with the Privacy Act 1993, APN collects personal information and APN and North East England Tourism hold personal information to conduct the promotion, notify prize winners, verify prize winners' identities and may be used for APN and/or North East England Tourism future promotional activities, including (where consented to) sending the entrant emails and/or text messages. Individuals have rights to access and request correction of their personal information held by APN and Great Southern Rail by calling 0800 100 888 (APN). Failure to provide all requested personal information may result in the entry being invalid.'

10) Each entrant agrees that, if he or she wins a prize, his or her details (including name, suburb/town, and photo) may be published in The New Zealand Herald (print and/or online) and used for other publicity purposes.

11) A valid passport is required for all international journeys. Winner must be over the age of 18 and have a valid full driver's licence.

12) There is one Major Prize to be won. The prize includes: Two return economy flights flying Emirates from Auckland or Christchurch to Newcastle in the UK, 7 nights twin share accommodation in North East England (3 nights at The Old School Quality B&B, 2 nights at Jesmond Dene House inclusive of dinner on one night and 2 nights at Rockcliffe Hall); 8 days car hire, a English Heritage Overseas Visitors pass for 2 adults, valued for 14 days; 1 x 60 minute spa treatment and 1 x round of golf at the Rockcliffe Hall or 2 x 60 minute spa treatments or 2 x rounds of golf dependent on winners preference). Airline tickets are valid for travel on Emirates services only, over the specified routing and in the stated class of travel. Travel restrictions may apply. Emirates Skywards miles cannot be incurred on these tickets. The prize does not include access to the Emirates Business or First Class Lounges.

13) The prize does NOT include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals (other than those specified in prize details), airport transfers in New Zealand, taxes not included in the price of the ticket, room service or any other costs of a personal nature not stated. Adequate travel insurance for the duration of the trip must be organised by the winner at his/her own expense.

14) Airline tickets are valid for travel on Emirates services only, over the specified routing and in the stated class of travel. Travel restrictions may apply. Emirates Skywards miles cannot be incurred on these tickets. The prize does not include access to the Emirates Business or First Class Lounges.

15) The prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not transferable to another person (unless agreed to by the Promoter) or exchangeable for other goods and services and cannot be redeemed as cash. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.
