New Zealanders helping to cure leprosy, once and for all.
The Leprosy Mission New Zealand is dedicated to curing, caring for and restoring leprosy-affected people, families and communities. Our vision is to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
Over the last 25 years, 15 million people have been cured from leprosy, but there are still 5 million people affected by leprosy today.
Key points about leprosy: • Leprosy still exists • There is a cure • It can be ended in our lifetime
We are committed to the final push towards a world without leprosy, and our Annual Appeal is a worthwhile way for New Zealanders to help achieve this.
The NZ government, through the NZ Aid Programme, is matching every dollar raised with another four dollars to help our neighbours in Papua New Guinea and Bougainville.
That means all donations to our Annual Appeal will be multiplied FIVE TIMES to give hope to people affected by leprosy, their families and their communities.
