1. Information on How to Enter form part of the Terms and Conditions of entry to this Competition. To the extent of any inconsistency in the information on How to Enter and other details and instructions, the Terms and Conditions below will prevail.
2. Entry into this Competition indicates an
acceptance and agreement of all these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions you should not enter the Competition.
3. The promotion commences 12.00am Tuesday, 2 December, 2014 and closes at 11.59pm Sunday, 14 December, 2014 ("Promotional Period"). 
4. The winner(s) must be over 18 years of age.
5. If a winner is drawn and they are under the age of 18 the draw will be deemed invalid and a redraw will take place.
6. Entry is open to NZ residents except employees of NZME., Auckland Racing Club Inc., their agencies associated with the promotion. Failure to provide all requested personal information at the time of submitting an entry may result in the entry being invalid.
7. To enter visit www.nzherald.co.nz/VIPHeraldRaces and enter your details, along with which zone(s) you would like to be in the draw for; either the family or group zone, or both. Entries close at 11.59pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014.
8. Prize Details:
Of the vaild entries, NZME. will draw two winners from each category (Two (2) for the VIP family area and two (2) for the VIP group area) at random. The one (1) person who entered the competition will be deemed "The Winner".
This prize package includes:

Family Zone:
· Infield admission to The New Zealand Herald Boxing Day Races on Friday, 26 December, 2014 for a family of up to seven members (7).
· A VIP area located on the Infield for a family of up to seven members (7).
· Access to entertainment for the kids.
· $500 NZD spending money, on Friday, 26 December, 2014.
· A 'Herald Hero' on hand for the day to help out with relevant hospitality requirements.
Friends Zone:
· Leger Lawn admission to The New Zealand Herald Boxing Day Races on Friday, 26 December, 2014 for a group of up to ten (10) people.
· A VIP area located on the Leger Lawn for a group of ten (10) with upfront trackside viewing.
· A catered light lunch platter.
· $500 NZD spending money onFriday, 26 November, 2014.
· A 'Herald Hero' on hand for the day to help out with relevant hospitality requirements.

9. It is each winner's responsibility to cover any additional costs not associated with the prize (specifically stated in clause 8). Additional spending money and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner.
10. Competition winners agree to follow all parameters/rules/regulations requested of them by Brand Ambassadors ("Herald Heroes") on the day.
11. The spending money will be awarded to the winner (in cash) upon arrival at the location. To receive the prize money, the winner must provide photo ID and sign a declaration form from a 'Herald Hero' to accept they have received it.

12. All 'Herald Heroes' reserve the right to not purchase drinks (including alcohol), food, bets, and all other requests, if competition winners are not of a sound state of mind, making 'Herald Heroes' uncomfortable, or other reasons deemed inappropriate by 'Herald Heroes' or event staff.
13. 'Herald Heroes' will meet the winners at the entry gate to their respective areas (for either the Leger Lawn or the Infield) of The New Zealand Herald Boxing Day Races location and be on site with the winner for the duration of the day. The 'Herald Hero' will be of assistance between the hours of 11.00am until 10 minutes after the last race has concluded (approx. 6.50pm).
14. The winners must evacuate the VIP area within 10 minutes after the last race has concluded (approx. 7.00pm).
15. The winner must supply a mobile phone number upon entering which will be contactable on the day between the hours of 9.00am - 2.00pm. The 'Herald Hero' will be in contact via phone and or text message to arrange pick up from location to the VIP area.
16. The 'Herald Hero' can purchase food or beverages on the winners' behalf. 'Herald Heroes' will not under any circumstances purchase liquor for anyone under the age of 18 years of age. The winners must provide a valid photo ID (a passport, drivers licence or an 18 plus card) if they wish to consume alcohol on the premises. Any VIP member who becomes intoxicated throughout the duration of the day will not be supplied alcohol at the 'Herald Heroes' discretion.
17. In the event that any prize(s) become unavailable for any reason beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Any unused portion of the prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-redeemable for other goods or services and cannot be taken as cash.
18. In the event that wet weather applies on the day, Auckland Racing Club will reserve a table within the Guineas Room, throughout the duration of the day - a premium GA option. Located on Level 3 of the Ellerslie Stand Premium GA gives you entry to the course. There is easy access to food, bar, tote and bathroom facilities.
19. Taking the prize is subject to Auckland Racing Club Inc.'s terms and conditions, which can be found at http://www.ellerslie.co.nz/#!terms--conditions/c1ozb. No compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use any element of the prize as stated for whatever reason, including participation in certain activities for health, age, behaviour or safety reasons. Winners will be able to claim the prize from 10.00am on Friday, 26 December, 2014. If the prize (specifically stated in clause 8) is not claimed by 12:30pm on Friday, 26 November, 2014, the prize will be deemed forfeited.
20. The prize draw will take place on or before Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
21. The winner will be notified by phone and confirmed in writing. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 48 hours of the prize draw, that winner will forfeit the prize and a redraw will be made.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, including but not limited to submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
23. The Promoter reserves the right to vary any of the terms of entry applying to this promotion or to modify, terminate, suspend or reschedule this promotion.
24. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.
25. The Promoter is not responsible for the transmission or receipt of any incorrect information associated with entries, either caused by user error or any equipment or programming malfunction associated with the promotion.
26. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) suffered by any person arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with entering this promotion or claiming/winning any prize, except as required by law.
27. All entries become the property of NZME.. In accordance with the Privacy Act 1993, NZME. collects personal information and NZME. holds personal information to conduct the promotion, notify prize winners, verify prize winners' identities and may be used by NZME. for future promotional activities, including (where consented to) sending the entrant emails. Individuals have rights to access and request correction of their personal information held by NZME., 46 Albert St, Auckland, New Zealand, freephone 0800 100 888 email promotions@nzherald.co.nz. By entering this promotion entrants consent to the use of their information as described above.
28. The winners' name and photo may be used for publicity purposes and by accepting the prize the winners' must make themselves available for this purpose.
