Young man killed in workplace accident named

A young man who died in a workplace accident on Wednesday has been named by police.

Rory Hayward was 18, and from Greymouth. He was one of four workmen repiling a house on Oneone Rd, Harihari, at the time of the incident.

Worksafe and the Coroner's office have been notified of the death.

"Police extend their sympathies to Mr Hayward's family and friends at this difficult time," police said.
