Xtra says latest outage fixed

Xtra says it has fixed the problem that knocked out thousands of broadband customers overnight.

About 27,000 internet connections were affected by a hardware failure in Porirua at about 9pm.

Xtra said service was fully restored just before 7.30am today. The company is still trying to find out what caused the problem.

It said most of the affected customers were in the Wellington region.
