XT network back up nationwide

Telecom's XT network is back up and running nationwide this morning.

The last sites in the lower South Island were restored late last night.

Spokesman Mark Watts says the company is doing all it can to make sure XT customers have service.

"We're monitoring the network extremely closely. We've been doing that since the fault first happened as we moved to fix it for all of our customers. That vigilance, that monitoring will certainly continue because we don't want this to happen again."

Mr Watts says compensation for customers significantly affected by the network issues will be announced early next week.
