Writer cancels NZ trip

Award-winning US writer Elizabeth Gilbert will not speak at this year's Auckland Writers & Readers Festival, after a family emergency forced her to cancel her New Zealand tour.

Gilbert is widely known for her memoir: Eat, Pray, Love: One woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia.

Anyone who bought tickets to An Evening with Elizabeth Gilbert on Saturday, May 15, can contact THE EDGE Ticketing Service on (09) 357 3355 for a full refund or transfer to another event.

Meanwhile, the event Best of Both Worlds has been changed from Friday, May 14, at 1.30pm to Sunday May 16, at 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
