Work has begun on Wellington's newest cycle-way.
The 1.5km path would connect Haitaitai and Miramar via Cobham Drive.
Members of the Wellington City Council and the Minister for Transport took part in a sod-turning ceremony today on the Cobham Drive trail.
Wellington Mayor Justin Lester said, "The collaboration between localand central government was vital in getting to this stage."
He said it would cost around $5.5 million and the government was providing funding for it.
