A 19-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after having part of her lip bitten off in a fight in Dunedin this morning.
A 20-year-old Christchurch woman had been charged with assault over the incident, Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin police, said.
The two woman were fighting outside a shop
at 9am this morning.
Police found one of the woman lying on the ground, screaming and with some of her lip missing, Mr Aitken said.
She was taken to hospital.
A chunk about 1cm wide was missing from her lip, Mr Aitken said.
The two woman knew each other and it appeared an argument had turned into a brawl, Mr Aitken said.
The 20-year-old woman would appear in Dunedin District Court next Tuesday.
