Woman killed in south Auckland fire named

Police have named the woman killed in a house fire in the Manukau suburb of Papatoetoe last Friday.

She was 44-year-old Amiria Dawn Renata, also known as Amiria Dawn McClintock.

The woman's body was found when firefighters arrived at the fiercely burning house in Birdwood Ave at about 8.30pm

Fire safety officers had investigated the possibility of it being suspicious but Detective Senior Sergeant Gary Lendrum of Counties Manukau Police said on Sunday that it did not appear to have been deliberately lit.

"We're pretty confident it's not suspicious as a result of the Fire Service investigation yesterday," he said.
