Woman injured in Cardrona bike crash

A 55-year-old woman has been flown to hospital following a mountain bike accident near Cardrona Ski Field this afternoon.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the woman was taken to Lakes Hospital with moderate injuries after the incident at 12.32pm.

In a separate incident, a man was flown by rescue helicopter to Taranaki Hospital with serious injuries after a quad bike accident.

The man was injured about 11.22am along Motukawa Rd, Tarata, east of New Plymouth, the spokeswoman said.
