A woman has a suspected broken leg after being hit by a truck on a Mid Canterbury farm today.

A woman has been injured after being hit by a truck on a Mid Canterbury farm today.

Emergency services were called at 11.30am to reports that a truck had backed into a woman.

An ambulance was sent to the scene on a farm on Rangitata Highway outside Ashburton.

Police said the woman has suffered a suspected broken leg.

It has been referred to Worksafe for investigation.
