Woman hurt after truck-bus-van smash

A 27-year-old woman was taken to Tauranga Hospital yesterday morning after a crash involving a logging truck, bus and two passenger vehicles.

The crash happened in Mt Maunganui on Hewletts Rd.

The injured woman was believed to be the driver of a van that suffered frontal damage in the crash. She suffered minor bruising.

The Bay Hopper bus had children on board and its front window was shattered.

Fire services, police and ambulance attended the accident.

No serious injuries were reported. Traffic was backed up along the harbour bridge before being cleared. The bus was towed away.
