Woman found on doorstep died after fall

The Rotorua woman found dead on her doorstep died after falling and hitting her head, police said today.

Rangi Rayner was found by a visitor to her Sala St house at 4am on Friday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Loper said autopsy results had established she died from an injury to her head, consistent with a fall.

He said further inquiries would be made by police throughout the week.
