Save An elderly woman found dead at a Dunedin beach yesterday morning has been formally identified, police say.
The circumstances around the 83-year-old Dunedin woman's death are not suspicious and the matter has now been referred to the coroner.
The woman's body was found near the wooden piles on St Clair
beach by a man walking his dog.
He contacted emergency services after discovering the body above the tideline just after 6am.
She was found clothed and with no identification.
