A woman is dead after crashing her car into a tree in Christchurch last night.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at the intersection of Innes Rd and Queen Elizabeth II Drive, Mairehau, at about 9pm, police said.
The sole woman occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
Papanui police and the serious crash unit are investigating.
