Woman critical after suffering from burn injuries

A woman is in a critical condition with burn injuries afer an incident at Port Waikato tonight.

Emergency Services were called to the Port Waikato Holiday Park at 8.37pm, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.

The woman, 30, was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Middlemore contains a specialist burns unit.

The spokeswoman would not disclose how the woman was injured.

A woman who answered the phone at the holiday park said there had been an accident but declined to comment further.
