Woman critical after Onehunga crash

Police have reopened a road following a serious crash in Auckland last night.

A 24 year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition after a crash at the corner of Alfred Street and Neilson Street, Onehunga.

The crash happened at about 9.30pm when two cars collided at the intersection, causing one to roll onto its roof.

The critically-injured woman was trapped, and the Fire Service had to release her from under the wreckage.

In total, four people from two cars were injured. Three of these people were moderately injured.

The road was closed for several hours overnight as the Serious Crash Unit investigated.
