Save A woman was airlifted to hospital after she was trampled by a horse during a Waikato trail ride this afternoon.
The 39-year-old fell from her horse during the organised ride at Wharepuhunga, about 32km south of Te Awamutu, at about 1.30pm.
Taupo's Youthtown Rescue Helicopter pilot Nat Every said the
horse then stood on her, injuring the woman's ribs.
"It was nothing too bad in the end, but she was in a fair amount of pain and was a bit concerned about moving,'' he told APNZ.
The woman was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.
