Woman admits blackmailing ex-escort

A 29-year-old Christchurch woman has been sent to the High Court for sentence after admitting blackmailing another woman.

The Linwood woman's interim name suppression order was continued after she pleaded guilty in Christchurch District Court today.

She was remanded on bail to be sentenced in the High Court on September 3.

The defendant threatened to expose the 36-year-old victim's previous work as an escort to obtain goods worth $2226.

The district court called for a pre-sentence report including the woman's suitability for home detention and an emotional harm report on victim.
