New Zealand First leader Winston Peters will be auctioning two tickets on Trade Me to accompany him to the reopening of the Backbencher pub across the road from Parliament.
The well-known watering hole has been closed after two fires last year.
Mr Peters said the lucky duo would get to
go with him to the invitation-only event on February 26.
Proceeds of the auction will go to the Problem Gambling Foundation.
Mr Peters said the Backbencher and its politician puppets had become an institution.
