Wild weather has caused flooding on State Highway 2 - and police are warning motorists to take "extreme care".
Heavy rain has caused flooding through the Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa.
The road remains open, but police have advised those travelling in the area to take extreme care.
Police
are patrolling the area, and ask drivers to slow down and follow directions of officers if asked.
