"I'm doing quite well, thank you," Mrs Hubbard said yesterday. "I've got five daughters and they are being very helpful. Two of them live quite near me, and I'm at home and living on my own now. Everything is, as far as possible, back to normal.
"I've got a broken wrist - it's my left hand fortunately - but it's preventing me from doing very much, the things I would like to do around the house. I'm a little stiff in one ankle, but otherwise I was quite unhurt so I'm okay."
"I'm as well as can be expected under the circumstances, is all I can say really."
Mr Earl said he could not remember the collision, but does not believe he was to blame for it.
He was able to speak to Mrs Hubbard after the crash, and to Mr Hubbard before he died.
Police say they are analysing the crash, and it will a few more weeks, before a decision is made on whether to lay charges.
A public memorial service for Mr Hubbard will be held on October 8 at the SBS Events Centre in Timaru.
