An outbreak of whooping cough is sweeping the capital.
At least 124 cases have been reported in Wellington this month.
That's up from 36 in October and 15 in September.
Regional public health officer Dr Jill McKenzie says it's important for parents to keep their children's vaccinations up to date.
She warns whooping cough can be very dangerous to children under the age of one.
