White powder discovery at Invercargill Prison

Police were called to the administration block at Invercargill Prison this morning after a letter was discovered to contain white powder.

Three staff were put through the decontamination process as a precaution.

Police are trying to determine what the powder is.

Numerous packages of white powder have been sent to various places around the country recently.
