The Herald asked people who made the news this year to tell us what they've learnt in their own words.
Married at First Sight's Haydn Daniels will be remembered as the big-armed brute that almost suplexed another cast member.
The semi-professional wrestler and primary school teacher was matched with BelClarke - formerally of the Bachelor 2017 - before the pair called it off due to a lack of communication.
If I had my time again I would have slowed down and taken a step back before saying certain things or pressing send on a message.
I sometimes communicate my opinions in a way which can seem brash and perhaps lacking a little tact.
I am 100% comfortable with how I behaved on the show. Whatever emotion you saw was a true reflection of how I was feeling in that moment.
I think the way I was portrayed on the show was a fair reflection of the person I am. I am kind and caring but also say what i think and let my true emotions show," he said.
Daniels had this advice for those in a similar boat, or to competitors next season: "Have an open heart, mind and be able to laugh at yourself!"
