Police are still looking for several people they believe were involved in a Whanganui theft in which the suspects used a quad bike as a getaway vehicle.

On Wednesday last week, police responded to reports of a robbery at a Bottle-O store on Polson St, Castlecliff, about 6.10pm.

The offenders allegedly entered the premises and stole a number of cigarettes and bottles of alcohol before fleeing on a quad bike.

Detective Nadine Staples, Whanganui CIB, said three people have been arrested in relation to the crime. Police are still looking to identify several other suspects.

Two suspects, both 18, have been charged and are due to appear in the Whanganui District Court.

One will face a charge of aggravated robbery on March 31, while the other will appear for the unlawful possession of ammunition/firearm, cannabis possession and receiving stolen property on April 16.

Police are not ruling out further arrests or charges and inquiries are ongoing.

They also said in a press release issued at 5.37pm that they had now identified two people they had earlier distributed photos of, and asked the public to help identify.
