Westpac will open six Auckland branches on Saturdays from 10am to 2.30pm to see if customers want Saturday trading.
Four of the branches - in Henderson, Browns Bay, Manukau and on Queen St - will have staff to deal with loans and investments. The other two - in Newmarket and Takapuna- will offer teller services.
The three-month trial from mid-July was inspired by the success of Saturday openings in Australia, said Westpac's consumer general manager, Ken Hodgson.
