Westland to get a dumping

Parts of Fiordland and Westland could get up to 350mm of rain in a 24 hour period, Metservice warns.

Forecaster Ian Miller said this is a lot of rain even for Westland.

He said the heavy rain is likely to start tomorrow morning and could last until late Sunday morning.

Mr Miller said there could be some significant flows into the lakes and rivers of Canterbury and Otago.
