A group of seven offenders have smashed in the windows of an Auckland petrol station with hammers before making off with cash and cigarettes.
Police are still at the Z petrol station in Westgate, and it is closed to the public.
A police spokeswoman said the store was robbed by
a group of seven offenders at 3.19am today.
One staff member was there at the time but is not hurt.
"The offenders were in two vehicles and came and took cigarettes and cash. Members of the public saw it and called the police."
