Western Work Boats is a leading and innovative marine services company based in Tauranga which provides vessel solutions for both the private and government sectors. As the company's senior management and governance is reconfigured for the next stage of development of the company, we are seeking a General Manager to take a central role with the support of key staff and the Directors.
Western Work Boats has a fleet of high quality and well maintained vessels and other equipment that can operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Your ability to be organised, flexible and adaptable in your approach is key to providing successful outcomes for our clients. With a very strong focus on safety you will deliver results that are both timely and professional.
Intelligent decision making as well as an ability to build internal and external relationships will be critical to success in this multi-disciplinary role, as will demonstration of your ability to problem solve, deal with complex situations and drive yourself and others to achieve results.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person with the suitable skills to lead a small and motivated team. You will work collaboratively with the Directors to develop, implement and monitor a strategic plan with a focus on financial growth through the development of new relationships and market opportunities. You will provide technical and project management direction as well as general, financial and human resources management whilst being involved with the day-to-day operational running of the business to ensure long term success.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record in a management role, marine or tertiary qualifications would be an advantage plus familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems. The position is Tauranga based and some travel will be required.
