Police investigating after body found in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt

Police are investigating an unexplained death after a body was found in Lower Hutt this morning.

One person was found dead about 9am in Wainuiomata.

Cordons are in place along Wainuiomata Rd, Reading St and The Strand, with members of the public being advised to avoid the area.

Emergency services remain at the scene, police said.

Police investigators are working to establish the circumstances around what happened.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
