Kumeū crash leaves five injured, one in serious condition

Five people have been injured after a car and van collided in Auckland’s Kumeū this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the intersection of Old Railway and Old North Rds about 12.20pm.

A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said five people in the crash suffered injuries, ranging from minor to serious, and are being treated by crews.

The rural road is blocked and traffic management has been put in place.

“The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and motorists are advised to expect some delays while emergency services work at the scene,” a police spokesman said.

Emergency services remain at the crash site at the intersection of Old Railway and Old North Rds in Kumeū.

Hato Hone St John sent two ambulances, one rapid response unit, and a manager to the crash.

One person is in a serious condition and has been taken to North Shore Hospital. The four others have minor injuries and have been treated at the crash site.
