Car catches fire on SH1 Wellington, blocks northbound lane

Part of the northbound lane on State Highway 1 in Wellington is blocked by a car fire.

The incident was reported to emergency services at 2.18pm, but no injuries have been reported.

Fire and Emergency and traffic control attended the scene.

The blocked section of the highway is the left-hand lane heading towards Porirua.

Drivers using the motorway to head north should expect delays.
