Wellington students sent home after school receives concerning email

A Wellington school has sent its students home for the rest of the day after receiving a concerning email.

Police said they were made aware of the email after it was sent to St Patrick's College in Kilbirnie this morning.

Officers were at the school and were working with St Patrick's management team in relation to the incident.

"The school has decided to take the precaution of sending the students home for the rest of the day while police investigate," police said.
