The public are invited to celebrate the achievements of New Zealand women at this year's WIFT (Women in Film and Television) awards. Winners from six categories will be named, including Achievement in Film, Woman to Watch and Outstanding Contribution to the NZ Screen Industry. Actress Robyn Malcolm, castingdirector Diana Rowan and producer Caterina De Nave are among the finalists.
Organisers promise a glamorous evening that includes the presentation ceremony followed by an advance screening of the film, A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie.
The Juice TV awards are on the same night. Video of the Year finalists include Ollie Langridge (Crawl by Atlas), Joe Lonie (Gather to the Chapel by Liam Finn), Ruth Carr and Paul Dodge (The Sum of Us by Minuit), Stephen Tolfrey (Maybe by OpShop), Chris Graham (My Sh*t by Scribe), Chris White and Chungmin Moon (Bad Karma in Yokohama by SJD) and Arran and Corran Brownlee (Calliope by the Veils).
