From farmwear to high fashion, the many ways to wear wool were modelled at the Shear Fashion show on Thursday night.
More than 350 attended the show highlighting the versatile use of wool in fashion at War Memorial Stadium. It was part of Shear Fest, a new festival to celebratethe Golden Shears.
"They were queuing at the door to come in which was great," said organiser Robyn Cherry-Campbell.
She said the evening was successful despite the show starting half an hour later because the Shears ran an hour late.
"The team worked really, really hard backstage," she said.
The show started with babywear and went through to men's and women's fashion - from the farm to haute couture.
Mrs Cherry-Campbell said the garments were beautiful, and the entries in the secondary school section Bling your Sing - a twist on the classic black singlet - were great.
She said the emerging designers section also went well.
