More than 5000 people gathered at the Ardmore Airfield in Auckland yesterday to commemorate the 1944 D-Day landings.
The crowd was treated to three air displays, including a re-enactment of the battle between the German and Allied air forces at the Normandy landings.
The Warbirds Association rated the day a
huge success.
