Wanganui edges closer to 'h' decision

It's been put into the name of the river and the city - and now the H will enter the name of the Wanganui District.

The New Zealand Geographic Board has met to discuss the 649 submissions it received on the proposal.

Nearly 300 of those were against including the H, but the board rejected those submissions.

The board would present its decision to the Minister for Land Information, Louise Upston, who would make the final call.
