Wairarapa players have been making a big impact at junior tennis tournaments all over the North Island.
At the Wilson Waikato Junior Open Patrick Nicholson was runner-up in the boys' 10-year singles and also in the boys' 10-year doubles where he was partnered by Nathan Murray.
At the Wanganui JuniorOpen Shane Colton teamed up with Tom Bolton to win the boys' 12-year doubles and he was runner-up in the 12-year singles.
There was success for both Nicholson and Colton at the Wellington Junior Open.
Nicholson was runner-up in the consolation plate of the boys' 10-year singles while Colton was runner-up (again with Tom Bolton) in the boys' 12-year doubles championship.
Chichi Beck was a strong performer at the Manawatu Spring Open, being runner-up in the 12-year girls' singles and combining with Annabelle Hodder to win the girls' 12-year doubles.
Colton and Beck have qualified for the Tennis Central Junior Masters in the 12-year age group. This tournament will be played in Wellington at the end of the month.
