Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay wind warning

Gusts of 120km/h are forecast to hit the Wairarapa and southern Hawkes Bay this morning, according to MetService.

A severe weather warning has been issued, with west to northwest gales over central New Zealand are expected to gust to severe strength at times in exposed places of Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay south of Waipukurau until about midday today.

Gusts of 120 km/h are likely and these gusty conditions may make driving hazardous and could damage trees, powerlines and insecure structures.
