Wairarapa College boy into bowls champs semis

Wairarapa College student Stephen Scott is through to the semi-finals of the boy's singles at the national secondary school bowls tournament in Hamilton.
Scott finished runner-up to Shannon McIlroy of Lytton High School in section play. He finished with seven points compared to McIlroy's eight.
They advanced through to today's semis along with the major placegetters in the other section, Matt Gallop of Marlborough High School and Brook Tippett of Avondale College.
Competing in the girl's singles was Trisanna Campbell of Wairarapa College. She placed fifth in her section. Semi-finalists there are Olivia Davids (Christchurch Girls), Mecaela Lynch (Northern Southland), Patricia Tuhaka (Lytton High) and Abby Shaw (Mt Aspiring College).
