One dead after vehicle rolls in serious crash in Waimakariri, Canterbury

One person has reportedly been seriously injured after a crash on Bowicks Rd in rural Canterbury.

One person has died after their vehicle rolled in a serious crash in Waimakariri, Canterbury this afternoon.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the Bowicks Rd scene in Cust about 1.25pm.

“One person died at the scene.”

The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination.

“Police would like to thank the emergency response teams who assisted at the scene.”

Hato Hone St John said crews were notified of an incident near Bowicks Rd, Starvation Hill at 1.21pm.

“One first response unit, one helicopter, one rapid responder, and one operations manager attended.”

Hato Hone St John referred the Herald to police for further comment.
