A female video store attendant was attacked by a knife-wielding robber in Christchurch this afternoon.
Police said a man in his 30s entered the Video Ezy outlet in Stanmore Rd, Linwood, about 3pm.
He threatened and assaulted the woman staff member before leaving with a small amount ofcash, Inspector Mike Coulter, of the police southern communications centre, told NZPA.
The woman wasn't hurt and declined medical attention.
Mr Coulter said the robber was described as a tall Caucasian of medium build wearing a white jacket and black trousers. His face was covered by a multi-coloured scarf.
Police were interviewing staff and seeking witnesses to the incident.
