"The more intricate the better," she said.
"I love lace. White lace is just beautiful. I like making pretty things with an edge."
The collection she created features some of her favourite silhouettes, including fishtail contours and high collars, with the black inspired by Victorian gothic mourning attire, she said.
When she graduates in three days, Ms Tannant said she will be looking for a job in evening or bridal wear in Wellington.
NZ Fashion Tech offers fashion programmes in both Auckland and Wellington. The college has been operating for 20 years and aims to give its students as many real-life experiences as possible, such as taking part in Fashion Week and offering exchanges to India.
