Emergency services have been called to a vessel on fire in the Rangitoto Channel in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf.
Police received a call at 1.34pm stating that a 7-metre vessel with four people on board was on fire.
It is reported that the fire is now out.
A Coastguard NZ spokeswoman
said a boat had a small engine fire that was put out by the occupants with a damp towel.
She said a boat that was in the vicinity went to check they were all okay and then helped them get back to their berth.
