Upper Hutt couple in court over death of baby

An Upper Hutt couple appeared in the Palmerston North District Court yesterday charged over the death of seven-month-old Kathleen Rebecca Antishar Harris.

Blair Murray Anthony Williams, a 32-year-old courier driver, is accused of murdering the infant. He entered no plea and was remanded in custody by Judge Phillip Connell.

The child's mother, Tracee Leighan Harris, 20, unemployed, also entered no plea. She was remanded on bail.

The charges were laid after the two appeared at Otaki Medical Centre on Saturday morning with Kathleen. The baby was dead on arrival.
