University to raise fees for next year

The University of Auckland will raise its fees for next year.

Tuition fees for undergraduate students will rise by 2.7 per cent and postgraduate student fees by 7.8 per cent. Tuition fees for most international students will go up by 5 per cent.

Vice-chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon says the rises are necessary to maintain academic quality.

Victoria University in Wellington announced at the start of the month it would also raise its fees next year.
