Workers installing ultra-fast broadband fibre optics in Rotorua's central city accidentally chopped through a gas pipeline.
The incident, which happened about 4am yesterday, cut the gas supply to about 20 properties.
Vector communications manager Sandy Hodge said the contractors, who don't work for Vector, identified where the main gas lines
