Two yachts burn in Auckland's Panmure Basin

A yacht was destroyed and another damaged after a fire in Auckland this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Panmure Basin about 3.10pm, and arrived to find a yacht well ablaze, Fire Service spokesman Mau Barbara told NZPA.

The yacht had drifted and hit a second boat, causing significant damage, he said.

No one was on board the yachts.

The Fire Service is investigating the cause of the blaze.
